HI-TECH &
ADVANCED ELECTRONICS
GRAFT provides niche structural engineering services to keep data centers and semiconductor plants operating - overhead track supports, cleanroom ceiling bracing, tool install pedestals, and modularized racks. We work in the cleanroom, through the data halls, and amidst the equipment yards.
Tool Install
Seismic Anchorage, Tool Pedestals, & Move-In / Move-Out Evaluations

We design easy-to-install components and reduce or eliminate drilling into the floor to lessen impacts on cleanroom operations. We also work with owners and contractors to design temporary construction aids that can be incorporated into the final solution.
Cleanroom Specialties
Access Platforms, Ceilings, Fall Arrest, Floor Studies

GRAFT spends time above the ceiling, below the raised access floor, and in the auxiliary rooms to understand our clients' needs. We use aluminum and cold-formed steel as lightweight alternatives so that contractors can move material more efficiently. We also investigate the effects of heavy equipment on floor systems to inform clients how much equipment can be safely installed.
Space Management
Equipment Layouts, Mezzanines, Utility Supports, Walk Paths

We hang utilities from above and stack equipment on frames to maximize functionality within a given space. Aluminum, FRP, and strut are just a few samples of what's in our repertoire. The final designs are tailored with materials useful to owners and their suppliers.
Equipment Anchorage
Post-Installed Anchors, Existing Conditions Assessments, Wind & Seismic Loads

Anchorage designs are as unique as the buildings the equipment serves. We design wood sleepers on rooftops, anchors chairs for large tanks, cabling for plastic equipment, and many other solutions to hold down equipment. We engage with contractors to ensure that our designs use readily available materials and are constructible.
Utility Supports
Pipe Stress Analysis, Multi-Discipline Racks, Pipe Anchors & Guides

GRAFT has extensive experience in designing supports for electrical, dry mechanical, wet mechanical, and fire suppression systems. We especially excel at using pipe stress analyses to eliminate expansion loops in pipes crossing seismic isolation breaks.
Value Engineering
Modular Racks, Temporary Works, Construction Aids

Owners and contractors engage GRAFT to enhance typical designs that suppliers use on every project. The picture highlights a strut truss that we designed to be constructed on the ground and loaded with utilities prior to be lifting into place. Our team improved safety and reduced costs by allowing the contractor to fabricate racks on the floor of their the shop.
