Dry Rot Repair
Water Leaks, Outdoor Canopies, Posts and Beams

Solid sawn 6 x 28 beams are relics of a bygone era and rather impressive in person. This beam, which supports an outdoor canopy, fell prey to dry rot and fungus. We helped the school salvage more than 80% of the beam and maintain the look and feel of a big beam with a glulam extension.
Joist Repairs
Checks, Water Damage, Excessively Large Cuts

These plumbing lines were installed under the toilet and shower for a dorm room on the next floor. The joist was mortally wounded in several places. Our team worked with the contractor to design repairs that could be installed around the utilities. The upstairs bathroom floor doesn't bounce or feel squishy any more.
Renovations
New Utilities, Small Works, Tenant Improvements

GRAFT aided Portland State University with installing new utilities in the St. Helens Residence Hall. We used scans to locate existing underground utilities and avoided damaging them during construction. The only questions during the entire construction phase were related to unkown conditions revealed during demolition.
Anchoring Equipment
HVAC Units, Mechanical Rooms, Boiler Rooms

Our structural engineers are uniquely suited to assist with anchoring equipment since many of our projects are on industrial sites. We routinely design anchorages. for equipment of all types - HVAC, boilers, pump skids, etc. Our work hides in plain site at Mountainside High School, Buckman Elementary, Duniway Elementary, and several others around the Portland Metro Area.
